If you’ve ever opened your album to file a brand-new stamp and found there’s simply no page for it, you already understand why supplements exist. A supplement is just what it sounds like: a set of new pages, released every year, built to slot into your existing album and cover everything issued since your last update.
It’s an easy thing to fall behind on, especially if you collect casually, but it’s worth staying current. A collection with gaps for entire years is a lot less satisfying to flip through, and it’s a genuinely easy fix: check your album’s system (Scott National and Minuteman are the two most common), find the year you left off, and pick up from there.
Think of it as the one piece of annual maintenance this hobby actually asks of you. Everything else is just enjoying what you’ve already got.
