Every October, the hobby gets its own month, National Stamp Collecting Month, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: a small, official nod to something collectors have quietly loved for generations, long before it had a name on a calendar.
We don’t need a special month to get excited about a good stamp, but it’s still a nice excuse to do a few things worth doing anyway: pull out a collection that’s been sitting in a closet, finally sort through that box of loose stamps you’ve been meaning to get to, or introduce someone new to the hobby while there’s a built-in reason to talk about it.
If you’ve been putting off any piece of collection maintenance, this is as good a nudge as you’ll get. Consider this our version of a friendly reminder. What’s one thing you’re planning to finally get around to this month?
